Saturday, May 14, officially marks the the Minnesota Fishing Opener, and as a result there will be some oversize load travel restrictions in effect throughout the state over the weekend.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is advising all to plan ahead as half-a-million Minnesotans take to the lakes and streams to kick off the state’s walleye, sauger and northern pike opener.
MnDOT released a statement advising all that oversize/overweight travel will be restricted from 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13 until 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, and from 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15 until 2:00 a.m. Monday, May 16.
